Activities (Starts 6:30 PM onwards)
1. Diya lighting (6:30 – 8:00 PM)
No Diwali without lighting some diyas and crackers (but let’s keep the fireworks for the cultural show, right?)? Well, you are in for a surprise here!! Come and see for yourself, on the DIWALI NIGHT!!
2. Warli Cards (6:30 PM onwards, Workshop 7:00-7:10 PM)
Warli paintings, a form of Indian folk art that developed near Mumbai (Maharashtra), are believed to invoke the blessings of the gods. Let’s celebrate Diwali this year by making Warli greeting cards for our loved ones! We know you’ve been itching to do something creative, and it’s been a long time since you even picked up a brush! Show us what you can do with the Warli motifs on Diwali Night!!
3. Diya Decoration (6:30 PM onwards, Workshop 7:00-7:15 PM)
Diwali is a festival of lights, and there’s no harm in reusing your old CDs right? Bring an old CD with you, and let’s create some magnificent diya stands that you can decorate your home with!
4. Mehndi (6.30-8.00 PM)
With us on Diwali Night, will be Manisha from the Henna Cafe (http://www.hennacafe.com)!
So sit with her for just 5 minutes, and get beautiful mehndi (henna tattoo) done on your hands!
